More than 50 exhibitors from various service organizations came to the Vidant Medical Center Campus for its 7th Annual Mental Health Expo. The goal of the expo is to raise awareness about mental health and combat the stigma that's associated with it.
A concert to bring awareness to the opioid crisis and give help to those who need it. That was the mission tonight for Heart of Wilmington. This year, a study ranked Wilmington number one in opioid abuse in the country. Nearly 16,000 people die every year from prescription drug overdose. Today was National Overdose Awareness day, so the group brought the community together for the event.
